My name is Corie and I'm a field identifier with the Boston Mycological Club. I hyper specialize in the ID of the Amanita genus. As a club, BMC does a joint foray with PVMA at Harvard Forest once annually. I also spend a fair amount of time on my own on the land to document fungal diversity to upload to iNatualist. In my time both solo and with BMC, I have identified various unique and currently unnamed Amanita species. Due to the unfortunate lack of Dr.Rodham Tulloss having published "the papers" during his life to move his taxa from nomen provisorium to nomen acceptum, an enormous amount of Amanita species are currently poorly studied and/or sitting in unofficial taxa. This why I want to harvest specifically Amanita species from the land so that I may voucher them to be submitted to the Farlow herbarium. Without proper permissions from land management, I'm unable to do so due to the Nagoya Protocol. I typically spend my time on the land in the trail system behind the Fisher museum. If you'd like to see specifically where, please see my iNaturalist account.
