The main objective of this research study is to characterize plants using a variety of remote sensors for the purpose of enhancing our ability to map ecological systems, including wetlands. The specific objective for the work proposed here is to collect ground observations of plant types and soil characteristics to collect ground truth for comparison to data from remote sensors, specifically satellite multispectral and hyperspectral sensors.
