• Abstract:

  The hypothesis I am testing is that soil warming alters leaf development in woody species and may affect leaf functions such as transpiration and carbon assimilation.
  I will test this hypothesis on big mature trees and young trees from the understory of Barre woods soil warming experimental plot.
  I will measure stomatal density, leaf mass per area, and leaf structure via cross sections.
